Blue Crown Topped Rochard Limoges Box

A crown rises from the lid of this blue Rochard box, giving a simple shape a royal finish. Both the crown and the blue ground are hand-painted on porcelain in Limoges, France.

Fit for a Throne Room

Crowns have topped French decorative pieces since the days of the monarchy, and Rochard uses one here as the centerpiece of the lid. The body stays clean and blue, so all eyes go to the crown above. Since each piece is painted by hand, the color and detail vary slightly from box to box.

Crowning Moments

This box makes a fine present for a graduation, a promotion or a milestone birthday, anywhere someone deserves a little royal treatment. It also suits a prom, a pageant or a retirement where someone is finally ruler of their own time.

Royal Shelf Companions

• A Rochard crown top design
• Belongs with royal, king and queen or blue boxes
• Pairs naturally with the red crown top in the same series

On a dresser or a library shelf, a crown top reads as both decorative and a little playful. Keep a favorite ring or a pair of cufflinks inside and the crown watches over them.
