Humboldt: Life on America's Marijuana Frontier

The name "Humboldt County" is infamous for existing for nearly 40 years as a place that lived on the cultivation and sale of marijuana. With business that is done with thick wads of cash and savings that are buried in the backyard, it cannot be denied that the marijuana industry there supports everything from fire departments to schools; however it comes with a heavy price as legalization looms on the horizon. Some want to claim their rightful heritage as master growers and have their livelihood legitimized while others want to continue reaping the inflated profits of the black market. This book will take you on a tour of what it's like living with the highly secretive residents of Humboldt County, weaving a story of intimately drawn characters and a small town that has become dependent on a forbidden plant - and how everything is set to change as marijuana goes mainstream.
