Santa Teddy Bear on Reindeer Sleigh Limoges Box

A teddy bear dressed as Santa Claus takes the reins of a sleigh, with a reindeer leading the way on Christmas Eve. This hand-painted porcelain Limoges box was made in Limoges, France, and brings the whole holiday team together in one small scene.

Teddy Takes the Reins

Santa is usually the one in the driver's seat, so there is something cheerful about seeing a stuffed bear doing the job. The sleigh, the bear and the reindeer are painted as a single group, giving the piece a sense of motion, as if the team is just leaving the rooftop for the next house.

Under the Tree and Over the Mantel

• Hand-painted porcelain from Limoges, France
• Joins teddy bear, Santa and reindeer groupings with ease
• A cheerful addition to a mantel, tree skirt or holiday sideboard

December Traditions

Many families have one piece that comes out of the holiday boxes first, and this sleigh has the right spirit for that role. Give it to a teddy bear collector for their first Christmas in a new home, to a grandmother who decorates every room, or as a Secret Santa surprise at the office.

After the season, wrap it carefully and put it back with the ornaments, so it can make its return next December.
